We Did Not Treat a Man Jailed for Over a Year Fairly,” Says Aleema Khan

ISLAMABAD: Following the emergence of a report in the Supreme Court regarding former prime minister عمران Khan, his sister Aleema Khan said that “the system has been shaken” and claimed that a man who has been in jail for over a year and a half has not been treated justly.

Speaking to the media outside the court, Aleema Khan stated that Adiala Jail Superintendent Abdul Ghafoor Anjum had been informed for the past three months about عمران Khan’s eye problem, but no adequate action was taken.

She alleged that not only the jail superintendent but others monitoring through cameras were aware of his condition. “For the past two weeks, they could see that his eye had stopped functioning properly,” she claimed.

Aleema Khan further said that عمران Khan remains in prison because, in her view, the judiciary is not independent. “If justice was being served, the party founder would not be in jail today,” she added.

She also announced that عمران Khan’s treatment would be carried out at Shifa Hospital in the presence of his personal physician. Addressing the authorities, she said they have two days to ensure proper medical treatment is arranged.
