PTI Leadership Warns Government Over Imran Khan’s Health, Urges Reconciliation

ISLAMABAD: Senior leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Wednesday expressed serious concern over the health of party founder عمران Khan and warned the government of strong public reaction if the situation worsens, urging all stakeholders to “forget the past and move forward.”
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad, PTI leaders including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi, Salman Akram Raja, Junaid Akbar, Shafi Jan and others voiced alarm over reports regarding Khan’s deteriorating eyesight and overall health.
PTI Khyber Pakhtunkhwa President Junaid Akbar said that the party’s foremost concern is Imran Khan’s health, adding that the former prime minister had never publicly complained about his illness. He alleged that Khan’s condition had significantly worsened and claimed that authorities failed to give due attention earlier.
Akbar warned that if party workers were provoked or came out without formal direction, “you will not be able to stop them,” calling on the government to adopt a reconciliatory approach. “Let us forget everything and move forward. عمران Khan has a big heart and can forgive,” he said.
He criticized what he described as the role of certain institutions, stating that their responsibility is to provide security, not to interfere in political matters. He further alleged political victimization through cases and arrests, saying such actions would only deepen resentment among party supporters.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi claimed that a recent medical report indicated serious concerns about Khan’s eyesight, alleging that he was taken to hospital and administered injections without taking his personal doctors and family into confidence. He termed the matter “serious” and said the party was considering its options.
Afridi announced that meetings of the party’s core committee, parliamentary committee and allied leadership would be held to formulate a strategy. “If we are calling you today, it means the matter is serious and requires immediate attention,” he said.
Salman Akram Raja said that Khan had endured hardships without complaint but his eye condition had worsened over the past three months. He demanded that trusted medical professionals be allowed to examine and treat the PTI founder and called for his immediate release from jail.
PTI leaders urged people across the country to raise their voices over the issue, insisting that the health and well-being of the country’s “largest political party leader” should not be ignored.
