Drinking Three Cups of Tea or Coffee Daily May Reduce Dementia Risk by Up to 20%

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) – A new study has found that individuals who consume three cups of tea or coffee daily may reduce their risk of developing dementia by approximately 15 to 20 percent.

Experts say that early preventive measures are crucial, and caffeine may play a protective role in maintaining brain health.

The research analyzed the health records of 131,000 people in the United States. Participants were asked about their daily intake of caffeinated beverages, and their memory and overall health were monitored over four decades.

The study revealed that those who drank two to three cups of caffeinated tea or coffee daily had a significantly lower risk of dementia compared to those who did not consume such beverages. However, drinking more than three cups did not provide additional benefits.

Additionally, individuals who consumed caffeinated coffee showed slower cognitive decline and performed better on certain brain function tests compared to those who drank decaffeinated coffee.
