PTA Makes Major Decision: Toll-Free Numbers Now Free for All Mobile Users

**Islamabad (Qudrat Daily):** The **Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA)** has announced that **all mobile users** can now make **toll-free (0800XXXXX) calls without any charges**. Previously, this facility was available only to **fixed-line users**, while mobile callers had to pay fees for calling toll-free numbers.

To protect **consumer interests** and ensure **equal access to telecom services**, the authority took notice of the issue and implemented the necessary measures to make toll-free calls free for all users.
The PTA stated that it **consulted with all relevant stakeholders**, including **PTCL, National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC), Local Loop Operators, and Cellular Mobile Operators**. After detailed discussions and positive consultations, it was agreed that **Local Loop (LL) toll-free calls would now be free for all users**.
The authority emphasized that it remains committed to **promoting consumer interests, ensuring equitable access to telecom facilities in Pakistan, and establishing an efficient, user-friendly telecommunications environment**.
