Advocate Salman Safdar Reports PTI Chairman Imran Khan in Good Health After Jail Visit

Rawalpindi: Advocate Salman Safdar, appointed as Friend of the Court by the Supreme Court, met with PTI Chairman Imran Khan at Adiala Jail and briefed the media on his condition.

Speaking outside the jail, Salman Safdar said that, in accordance with the Supreme Court’s directives, he was given full access to Imran Khan. “I have just come out after three hours. Khan Sahib’s health is fine,” he told reporters. He added that it was not appropriate to comment further until he submits his detailed report to the court.

Earlier, the Supreme Court had appointed Salman Safdar to submit a report on Imran Khan’s condition following a petition filed for lawyers’ access to the PTI chairman in jail. A two-member bench comprising Chief Justice Yahya Afridi and Justice Shahid Bilal Hasan had directed that Safdar be allowed access to Khan’s cell to assess the facilities and submit a written response by the next day.

The Supreme Court has adjourned the case hearing until the day after tomorrow.
