PSL 11: Peshawar Zalmi Sign Afghan Star Rahmanullah Gurbaz

**Peshawar (Qudrat Daily):** Peshawar Zalmi have taken the first major step ahead of Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11 by signing Afghanistan’s wicketkeeper-batter Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
Zalmi owner Javed Afridi confirmed the signing on social media, welcoming Gurbaz to the “Zalmi family” ahead of the new season.
Rahmanullah Gurbaz is an aggressive top-order batter and a fast wicketkeeper who has previously featured in the PSL, representing Islamabad United and Multan Sultans. Known for his fearless stroke play during the powerplay, Gurbaz is expected to give Peshawar Zalmi a strong start at the top of the order.
Gurbaz is currently part of Afghanistan’s squad for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which is set to begin on February 7. His signing has generated mixed reactions among Zalmi fans, especially amid ongoing tensions in Afghanistan–Pakistan cricket relations. Some observers have linked the debate to the decision of certain Afghan players, including Rashid Khan, to opt out of the PSL, making Gurbaz’s inclusion a topic of discussion.
Meanwhile, other franchises have also made notable signings in the early PSL 11 market. Lahore Qalandars have signed Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman, Karachi Kings have added Moeen Ali to their squad, Islamabad United have secured New Zealand’s Devon Conway, while Sialkot Stallions have made the biggest marquee signing by bringing in Australian star Steve Smith.
