Uzbek President Arrives in Islamabad on Two-Day Official Visit, Receives Warm Welcome

Islamabad: President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has arrived in Islamabad on a two-day official visit, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.
According to reports, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif received the Uzbek president at Nur Khan Airbase, where the distinguished guest was presented with a guard of honor and a ceremonial gun salute. Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar and Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Haroon Akhtar Khan were also present on the occasion.
The visit is being termed significant for enhancing diplomatic, economic, and strategic cooperation between the two countries.
Following his arrival, President Mirziyoyev proceeded to the Prime Minister’s House, where a grand welcome ceremony was held in his honor. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif formally received the Uzbek president, while a smartly turned-out contingent of the armed forces presented a guard of honor. The national anthems of Pakistan and Uzbekistan were played during the ceremony.
The Prime Minister also introduced members of the federal cabinet to the visiting Uzbek president, marking the formal commencement of the high-level engagements during the visit.
