ICC Concerned After Pakistan Refuses to Play India in T20 World Cup Group Match

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has been left concerned following Pakistan’s decision to refuse playing India in the group stage of the **T20 World Cup**.

Pakistan’s stance has reportedly unsettled the global governing body of cricket, prompting the ICC to explore ways to persuade Pakistan to reconsider its decision. According to Indian media, the ICC plans to initiate **back-channel talks** with Pakistan on the issue.

Reports say the ICC has assigned its **Deputy Chairman Imran Khawaja** the responsibility of conducting back-channel discussions. Imran Khawaja, who represents the **Singapore Cricket Association**, is expected to engage with the **Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB)** to discuss the T20 World Cup matter and attempt to convince Pakistan to participate in the match against India.

Indian media further claimed that Imran Khawaja has been asked to play the role of a **peacemaker** in the current situation.

It is noteworthy that the **Government of Pakistan announced on Sunday, February 15**, that the national team would not play against India in the T20 World Cup. Indian media also reported that the PCB has not yet formally informed the ICC of this decision through official channels.
