Afghan National Arrested in Quetta for Blackmailing Women Using Explicit Images

Quetta: The National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) Quetta has arrested an Afghan national involved in a sextortion case amounting to Rs1.5 million, officials said on Saturday. The suspect allegedly blackmailed women by threatening to leak their explicit images.
According to authorities, the accused used “dead drops” to receive ransom money in order to avoid leaving a digital trail. He allegedly contacted victims through Facebook and extorted money by threatening to publish their private photographs online.
Officials said that due to the absence of any local records, the suspect was traced using Meta’s assistance and artificial intelligence-based tools. A special team conducted a raid and arrested the suspect from Quetta along with digital devices.
Authorities confirmed that hundreds of sensitive images were recovered from the mobile phones and hardware seized from the accused. The suspect has been shifted to a digital forensic laboratory for further investigation and detailed forensic analysis.
