Imran Khan Diagnosed with Retinal Vein Occlusion in Right Eye, Says PIMS Director

Islamabad: Executive Director of the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Dr. Rana Imran, has confirmed that former prime minister Imran Khan has been diagnosed with retinal vein occlusion in his right eye.
In a statement, Dr. Rana Imran said that medical examinations conducted by PIMS doctors revealed reduced vision in Imran Khan’s right eye. A specialist ophthalmologist carried out a detailed eye examination and an Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) test at Adiala Jail.
He confirmed that Imran Khan was shifted to PIMS Hospital late last week for treatment. During his stay, an “anti-VEGF” injection was successfully administered to his eye. The medical procedure lasted around 20 minutes in the operating theatre, during which Imran Khan’s condition remained stable.
Dr. Rana Imran added that after the procedure, Imran Khan was discharged with necessary medical instructions and a follow-up treatment plan.
