PTI Leadership Must Take Bold Decisions or Step Aside, Says Ali Muhammad Khan

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Member of the National Assembly Ali Muhammad Khan has said that the party’s political leadership must take bold and decisive steps, warning that those unable to do so should relinquish their positions.

Speaking on an Express News program, Ali Muhammad Khan said that the party must speak the truth, stressing that half-hearted measures would not pave the way for the release of the PTI founder. He added that the only viable solution lies either in political dialogue or in launching nationwide, fully peaceful protests to pressure the government into securing the PTI founder’s release.

Commenting on the party leadership, he said that anyone unable to take a decisive stand should step down from their post. “We must speak clearly to the government. We do not want the PTI founder to become another Bhutto; we want him released alive,” he said.

Responding to a question, Ali Muhammad Khan said that the PTI founder himself had included him in the party’s political committee, but he was later removed by the current leadership. Despite this, he said he continues to support the new leadership and committee members.

The PTI leader further said that if the party founder is suffering from any medical condition, doctors should be allowed to examine him. He suggested that Dr Faisal Sultan or a medical team from Shaukat Khanum Memorial Hospital should be permitted to meet him.

He noted that doctors from Shaukat Khanum have a strong professional track record and have always limited themselves to medical matters without making political statements. Allowing them to meet the PTI founder, he said, would help resolve ongoing concerns about his health.

Ali Muhammad Khan said the party hopes for relief and called for access to meet the PTI founder. He also welcomed the meeting between Chief Justice and Salman Akram Raja, saying that while the meeting could have taken place earlier in the day, it was positive that it occurred.

He expressed optimism that doctors would soon be allowed to meet the PTI founder.
