No Operation Underway in Tirah Valley, Only Actions Under National Action Plan: Minister of State for Interior

Islamabad: Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry has clarified that no military operation is currently taking place in Tirah Valley, stating that only actions under the National Action Plan (NAP) are being carried out.
In a statement, Talal Chaudhry said that if any operation were to be launched in Tirah Valley, it would be done openly and with prior announcement. “Why would we hide it? If there is an operation, it will be announced,” he said.
He accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of engaging in negative politics over the Tirah Valley issue, alleging that PTI leaders actually want an operation in the area but are avoiding responsibility. He added that if the federal government intended to conduct an operation, there would be no reason to conceal it.
Talal Chaudhry further alleged that misappropriation occurred in the relief funds provided to the people of Tirah Valley. Referring to the Kohistan financial scandal, he claimed that Rs 4 billion was embezzled and said that such issues are now being politicized to divert attention and conceal corruption.
The minister reiterated that any future operation in Tirah Valley, if deemed necessary, would be conducted transparently and publicly.
