Rescue Teams Save Over 3,000 Stranded People Amid Heavy Snowfall in Peshawar

Peshawar: During the recent heavy snowfall in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rescue authorities successfully evacuated 3,010 people trapped in snow, ensuring their safety.

Officials reported that over the past three days, 942 vehicles stuck in snow were cleared, restoring traffic flow. Hundreds of affected individuals received immediate medical assistance on site.

Rescue teams deployed heavy machinery to clear 60 major roads and highways. The operation involved 535 personnel and 190 vehicles working tirelessly to restore normalcy.

Additionally, 32 temporary rescue points were established in the districts affected by snowfall to provide emergency aid and support to residents.

Authorities praised the timely and effective response of the rescue teams, which helped prevent further casualties and ensured the safety of stranded citizens.
