Ramadan Expected to Begin in Pakistan on February 19 or 20, 2026

**Islamabad:** Following the sighting of the Shaban moon across the country, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has announced that 1st Shaban will begin on Wednesday, January 21, 2026. The official declaration marks the start of the Islamic month of Shaban.

According to the committee, the exact date for the start of Ramadan will be determined after the completion of Shaban. If Shaban consists of 29 days, Ramadan will commence on February 19, 2026. However, if Shaban completes 30 days, Ramadan is expected to begin on February 20, 2026.

The final announcement regarding Ramadan’s start will be made in the committee’s meeting after considering moon sighting testimonies at the end of Shaban. With the onset of Ramadan, mosques and religious gatherings across the country will witness a significant increase in worship and spiritual activities.

The announcement allows the public to make preparations for the holy month, ensuring that religious observances continue in accordance with Islamic traditions throughout Pakistan.
