3,523 Pakistanis Incarcerated in UAE, Legal Aid Provided to 769: Details Presented in National Assembly

َIslamabad: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has presented detailed information in the National Assembly regarding Pakistani citizens imprisoned in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). According to the ministry, a total of 3,523 Pakistanis are currently behind bars in the UAE.

Out of these, 1,050 prisoners are held in various jails and rehabilitation centers in Abu Dhabi. As of November 2025, 769 Pakistani inmates have been provided with legal assistance.

The ministry added that requests for pardons and clemency for Pakistani prisoners are regularly submitted to the host government. In 2025 alone, 350 clemency requests were filed with the Abu Dhabi authorities.

These figures highlight the ongoing efforts by the Pakistani government to support its citizens abroad through legal aid and diplomatic engagement.
