Pakistan Emerges as World’s Third-Largest Rice Exporter

Islamabad – Pakistan has achieved a major milestone in the global agricultural market by becoming the **world’s third-largest exporter of rice**, according to an international journal that has acknowledged the growing global acceptance of Pakistani rice.

The report stated that during **December 2025**, Pakistan’s rice exports increased by **14 percent on a month-on-month basis**, with **Basmati rice exports recording a remarkable rise of over 50 percent**.

According to the data, Pakistan exported **489,000 tonnes of rice** during the month, enabling the country to secure **third position in the global rice export ranking**.

Pakistani rice was mainly exported to the **United Arab Emirates, China, Tanzania, Kenya, and Ivory Coast**. Experts have described the continuous growth in rice exports as a **positive and encouraging sign for Pakistan’s economy**, highlighting its potential to strengthen foreign exchange earnings and agricultural development.
