Government Maintains Petroleum Prices for Next 15 Days, Official Notification Issued

**Islamabad:** The federal government has decided to keep petroleum product prices unchanged and has issued an official notification confirming the move.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Petroleum, the price stability will be in effect for the next 15 days starting January 16. Petrol will remain priced at Rs. 253.17 per liter, while diesel will continue at Rs. 257.08 per liter.

Earlier, sources had anticipated a possible reduction in petroleum prices due to a drop in global crude oil rates. Estimates suggested that petrol could decrease by Rs. 4.59 per liter, high-speed diesel by Rs. 2.70, kerosene oil by Rs. 1.82, and light diesel oil by Rs. 2.08 per liter. However, the government has opted to maintain current rates for now.
