Powerful Western Winds Enter Balochistan, Heavy Rain and Snowfall Alert Issued; Road Closures Possible

**Quetta:** The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain and snowfall across Balochistan as a powerful system of western winds enters the province.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, upper and central districts of Balochistan are likely to experience rainfall and snowfall accompanied by thunder and lightning. Areas expected to see moderate to heavy snowfall include Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Kalat, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Pishin, Nushki, Zhob, and the mountainous regions of Harnai. Temperatures in these areas are expected to drop below freezing, and road travel could be severely affected.
Meanwhile, other districts including Mastung, Kharan, Chagai, Nushki, Loralai, Barkhan, Zhob, Musakhel, Sibi, Kech, Panjgur, Turbat, Gwadar, Jiwani, Awaran, Lasbela, Khuzdar, Washuk, and Kharan are forecasted to receive rain with thunder and lightning. The meteorological department has warned that heavy rainfall in some areas could cause flash floods in local streams and nullahs.
Authorities have advised residents and tourists in the upper regions to avoid unnecessary travel during snowfall and remain prepared for any emergency situation.
