Indian Muslim Actress Speaks Out on Iran Situation, Says US Role Is Neither the Issue Nor the Root Cause

Mumbai: An Indian Muslim actress has voiced her opinion on the ongoing situation in Iran, sharing a strong message in support of Iranian women and the public.
Bollywood actress Hina Khan took to social media platform X to comment on the unrest in Iran. In her post, she said that Iran, which has endured decades of oppression, humiliation, and a brutal way of life under coercion—especially for women who have been deprived not only of equal rights but even basic freedoms—has once again risen.
She stated that the Iranian people need global support more than ever, adding that whether the West has a role in the situation or not is neither the topic nor the real cause.
Saluting the Iranian people, Hina Khan wrote that she cannot even imagine the level of resilience they are showing. “This is bravery, courage, and a true revolution,” she said, paying tribute to their determination.

She further said that the people of Iran are fully aware that the situation could lead to mass casualties, yet the courage and strength being displayed—particularly by women—is truly commendable.
It is worth noting that protests in Iran, initially triggered by rising inflation, have escalated into violent demonstrations. According to various reports, more than 500 people have lost their lives, while calls for political change have also emerged.
Meanwhile, former US President Donald Trump has threatened intervention in Iran’s internal affairs, warning of extremely harsh measures. Recently, Trump also imposed a 25 percent tariff on countries trading with Iran.
