CDA Approves Regularization of Illegal Housing Schemes in Islamabad

Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has taken a major step to regularize illegal housing schemes and settlements in Islamabad, aiming to integrate them into the city’s formal urban framework.

As part of this initiative, CDA announced a feasibility study to assess the upgrade and rehabilitation of illegal settlements covering approximately 200,000 kanals in the capital. The authority is also preparing to incorporate these housing schemes into Islamabad’s master plan.

CDA has invited applications from consultants and issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) to carry out the regularization and development process. Based on the feasibility study, infrastructure and basic facilities in these settlements will be improved to provide residents with better urban amenities.

This move is being hailed as a significant step toward organizing Islamabad’s unplanned settlements and addressing the city’s urban challenges.
