PTI, National Assembly Speaker Hold Key Meeting on Appointment of Opposition Leader
Islamabad: An important meeting was held between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chief Whip Aamir Dogar and Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq regarding the appointment of the Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly.
According to Express News, the meeting focused on a detailed discussion about the procedure for appointing the opposition leader. During the meeting, Aamir Dogar provided the Speaker with a copy of the Peshawar High Court’s decision dismissing the petition filed by Omar Ayub.
The PTI Chief Whip also requested the Speaker to expedite the appointment of the opposition leader. Aamir Dogar stated that PTI has withdrawn all cases filed in connection with the opposition leader’s seat, adding that there are now no legal hurdles remaining in the appointment process following the resolution of these matters.
It is noteworthy that Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq had earlier sent four letters to PTI seeking clarification on issues related to the appointment of the opposition leader.
