Over 4,000 Balochistan Police Recruits Complete Training, Ready to Play Effective Role Against Terrorism: IG Muhammad Tahir

**Quetta (Daily Qudrat):** Inspector General of Police Balochistan, Muhammad Tahir, has stated that the newly trained police personnel must uphold human rights, respect citizens’ dignity, and adopt the motto of being both protectors and supporters of the public. Speaking at the passing-out parade of 124 recruits completing the Basic Course and 118 completing the Refresher Course at the ATF Training School, IG Tahir emphasized that the sacrifices of security forces have established peace in Balochistan.
He highlighted that Balochistan Police continue to play a crucial role in maintaining law and order and that professional training, including counter-terrorism courses, equips officers to meet emerging challenges effectively. Over 4,000 recruits have completed their training so far and are now serving across various districts.
The IG also noted that more than 40,000 police personnel serve in Balochistan, with over 1,000 having laid down their lives in the line of duty. He congratulated the newly passing-out officers and expressed confidence that they would not hesitate to make sacrifices to protect the public.
Addressing security challenges, IG Tahir warned that some self-interested and external elements are attempting to destabilize the province, causing harm to innocent citizens. He assured that the police are taking strong actions against these threats and urged officers to maintain discipline, teamwork, and respectful conduct toward the public.
The IG highlighted that the ATF Training School provides four-month intensive counter-terrorism training under expert instructors from SSG Commandos and ATF, covering physical training, firearms handling, marksmanship, operations against terrorists in urban and forested areas, and unarmed techniques to subdue armed criminals.
During the parade, awards and certificates were presented to officers demonstrating exceptional performance, reinforcing the importance of professional training in ensuring effective policing and public safety.
