Tragic Death of 8-Year-Old in Open Manhole in Karachi

Islamabad – A tragic incident occurred in Korangi, Mehran Town, Karachi, where an eight-year-old boy, identified as Dilbar, fell into an open sewage manhole and lost his life.

According to police, Dilbar, the only child of his parents, was playing with friends when he accidentally fell into the uncovered manhole. Locals and family members rescued the child, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Family members stated that the manhole had been without a cover for the past one to one-and-a-half months and urged authorities to take immediate action and cover the manhole to prevent similar incidents in the future.

The child’s body was transported to Jinnah Hospital for necessary procedures before being taken home. Following the incident, members of the Pakistan Peoples Party gathered at the boy’s residence, with volunteers from Fix It also present, leading to minor verbal exchanges between the groups.
