Western Weather System Likely to Enter Pakistan Today, Rain and Snowfall Expected in Several Regions

A western weather system is expected to enter Pakistan from today, bringing intermittent rain to various cities over the next few days.

According to the Meteorological Department, rainfall is likely in 23 districts of Balochistan from today until December 31. Areas expected to receive rain include Quetta, Ziarat, Qalat, Chaman, Pishin, and Qila Abdullah. Rain is also forecast for Qila Saifullah, Noshki, Harnai, Zhob, Barkhan, Sibi, Loralai, and Musa Khel.

Other districts where rain is expected include Kech, Gwadar, Lasbela, Awaran, Chagai, Panjgur, Khuzdar, Washuk, and Kharan. Under the influence of the western system, snowfall is also expected in northern regions.

From December 30 to January 1, intermittent rain accompanied by strong winds is likely in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Buner, Bajaur, Mohmand, Swabi, and Kohat, while moderate to heavy snowfall is expected in upper areas.

Between December 30 and January 2, rain and snowfall are expected in Gilgit-Baltistan, including Diamer, Astore, Ghizer, Skardu, Hunza, Gilgit, and Shigar. Intermittent rain and moderate snowfall have also been forecast for Kashmir.
