Governor Sindh Calls for Same Treatment of PTI as MQM

KARACHI:Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori has stated that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) should be dealt with in the same manner as the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) was treated in the past.
Addressing a joint press conference alongside MQM Chairman Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Farooq Sattar and Syed Aminul Haq, Governor Tessori said that the language used against Pakistan’s Field Marshal in a country like the United Kingdom falls under the category of terrorism.
He alleged that PTI is misleading overseas Pakistanis and urged people to stay away from what he termed a false narrative. “This narrative will not succeed. We are fully prepared to confront PTI even in the UK,” he said.
The Governor further remarked that negotiations with PTI should not take place, adding that “a shop has been opened in the name of dialogue.” He claimed that the founder of PTI is enjoying such extensive facilities in jail that he is not keen on coming out.
Kamran Tessori also said that PTI MNAs and workers should publicly disassociate themselves from Imran Khan and prove their loyalty to Pakistan, “just as we have done.”
Speaking on the occasion, MQM Chairman Dr. Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui urged PTI workers to move beyond personality-based politics and raise their voices for the public. He highlighted that Karachi is currently facing an emergency-like situation and alleged that continuous hurdles are being created by the government.
Dr. Siddiqui added that as the Governor represents the federation, MQM has requested him to play his constitutional role to help address Karachi’s pressing issues.
