Balochistan Bar Council Condemns Arrest and Alleged Abuse of Women in Manjho Shori

Quetta: Chairman of the Balochistan Bar Council, Rahib Baloch, has strongly condemned the arrest of women and alleged police violence against them in Manjho Shori. In a press release issued by the Bar Council, he stated that taking women into custody and subjecting them to mistreatment is a clear violation of the Constitution of Pakistan, the law, and fundamental human rights.

The press release said that the women in Manjho Shori were holding a peaceful protest to seek redress for their legitimate grievances when police used force and arrested them, an act described as completely unacceptable. The Bar Council chairman said that such behavior against women not only violates state laws but also raises serious questions about social values and the justice system.

Rahib Baloch demanded immediate, transparent, and lawful action against the police officers and personnel involved in the incident, and called for the immediate release of the detained women. He emphasized that protecting the fundamental rights of citizens, especially women, is the primary responsibility of the state, and no one should be allowed to take the law into their own hands.

He warned that if such incidents continue and those responsible are not held accountable, the Balochistan Bar Council reserves the right to adopt a strict course of action within the constitutional and legal framework. He concluded by reiterating that the Balochistan Bar Council will continue to raise its voice at every forum for women’s rights, human dignity, and the supremacy of the law.
