Two Officials Caught Red-Handed Taking Bribe in KP Anti-Corruption Operation

Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Anti-Corruption Establishment has arrested two government officials red-handed while taking a bribe during a sting operation.
According to Anti-Corruption KP, complaints were received regarding the demand for bribes at the office of the Assistant Director Local Government in Mohmand district. Acting on the complaints, the Anti-Corruption Department conducted a sting/trap operation in the presence of District Magistrate Iftikhar Ahmed.
During the operation, stenographer Badshah Gul and junior clerk Rehmat Syed were caught red-handed while receiving a bribe of Rs100,000. The bribe amount was recovered on the spot.
The Anti-Corruption Department stated that an FIR has been registered against both accused, and further legal proceedings are underway.
