PTI Leader Expresses Regret Over PIA Privatization, Calls It “Heartbreaking
**Islamabad:** Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shaukat Yousafzai has expressed deep regret over the completion of the privatization process of the national airline, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA).
Speaking to Express News, the senior PTI leader described the move as “heartbreaking,” stating that the sale of PIA has left him in tears. He criticized the handling of national assets, noting that while governments around the world protect their state-owned institutions, mismanagement and alleged corruption by incompetent rulers in Pakistan have pushed key national organizations towards decline.
Shaukat Yousafzai emphasized that PIA’s privatization is only the beginning, and it remains unclear how many other national institutions might be privatized in the future.
