Balochistan Assembly Forms Probe Committee Over Defamation of MPAs Through “Balochistan Leaks

*Quetta (Daily Qudrat):* Members of the Balochistan Assembly have strongly condemned the character assassination and baseless allegations being circulated on social media through a page named “Balochistan Leaks,” terming the campaign intolerable.
During the assembly session, the Speaker of the Balochistan Assembly summoned the local head of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) and announced the formation of an investigative committee under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran to probe the matter.
Opposition Leader Mir Younas Aziz Zehri said that fake news on social media is being used to malign elected representatives, calling it a deliberate conspiracy aimed at tarnishing their reputations.
Chief Minister Balochistan Mir Sarfaraz Bugti stated that he himself has been a victim of character assassination. He stressed that while the government is not afraid of accountability, it will not tolerate lies and false propaganda. He added that defamation laws will be enforced strictly against those involved.
Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran, speaking on the floor of the House, challenged the allegations leveled against him, saying that if even five percent of the accusations are proven true, he would resign from his position.
