Balochistan School Education Department Curbs Powers of Director Schools

Quetta:The Balochistan government’s School Education Department has further curtailed the powers of the Director of Education (Schools) following the issuance of a fresh notification.
According to the notification, postings and transfers to key administrative positions—including principals, senior headmasters, headmasters, and other management posts—will no longer be made without prior approval of the District Education Authority (DEA). Sources said that even before this decision, the Director Schools had already been stripped of authority over tendering, procurement, and other financial and administrative matters. With the latest move, powers related to appointments and transfers have also been removed from the director’s domain.
Officials within the education department said these measures have effectively rendered the post of Director Schools powerless in practical terms. The notification clearly states that any order issued without DEA approval may invite disciplinary action. All divisional directors and district education officers have been strictly instructed to ensure full compliance with the new directives.
