Pakistan Condemns Attack on UN Peacekeepers in Sudan, Calls for Justice

Islamabad: Pakistan has strongly condemned the attack on United Nations peacekeepers in Kadugli, Sudan.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the attack on UN Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA) personnel resulted in the death of six Bangladeshi peacekeepers and injuries to several others. Pakistan expressed deep sorrow and extended condolences to the government and people of Bangladesh, affirming solidarity with the families of the fallen peacekeepers during this tragic time.

The statement emphasized that UN peacekeepers play a frontline role worldwide in preventing conflicts, protecting civilians, and promoting peace. Pakistan paid tribute to these “Blue Helmets” who sacrifice their lives for global peace and stability.

Pakistan called for an immediate investigation into the cowardly attack, urging that the perpetrators be identified and brought to justice.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs further stated that Pakistan will continue to work with UN Security Council members and the international community to ensure the safety and security of peacekeepers.
