Quetta Gears Up for Local Body Elections: 2,541 Candidates to Contest, 108 Unopposed

**Quetta:** The provincial capital Quetta is ready for local body elections, with streets and neighborhoods adorned with banners and posters as preparations reach their peak.
According to the Provincial Election Commission, elections will be held on December 28 for 641 wards across 172 union councils in Quetta. Following the nomination process, a total of 2,541 candidates are set to contest, while 329 candidates withdrew their papers.
Statistics indicate that 108 wards have only one candidate each, who will be declared elected unopposed, while 18 wards received no nominations at all. The Election Commission has finalized arrangements for conducting the polls in Zarghoon, Chiltan, Saryab, and Takto towns.
