Parliamentary Secretary for Transport Mir Liaquat Laghari Issued Notice Over Election Code Violation

**Quetta:** The District Monitoring Officer’s office has issued a notice to Balochistan’s Parliamentary Secretary for Transport, Mir Liaquat Laghari, summoning him on December 15 for allegedly violating the Election Commission’s code of conduct.

According to the notice, Mir Liaquat Laghari attended a corner meeting for general member elections in Zarghoon Town, Ward No. 4, Union Council 14, which is considered a breach of the Election Commission’s code. The notice stated that, as a provincial minister and member of a political party, he engaged in prohibited activities under Para 18, which bars the President, Prime Minister, ministers, governors, provincial ministers, advisors, and other senior officials from participating in election campaigns.

The District Monitoring Officer has directed Mir Liaquat Laghari to appear personally or through a lawyer at 4:00 PM on December 15 at the Additional Commissioner’s office to clarify his stance.
