Explosion at North Waziristan Madrassa Kills Two Children, Injures Eight

MIR ALI: An explosion at a madrassa in the Isori village of Mir Ali, North Waziristan, claimed the lives of two children and left eight others injured on Tuesday.
According to security sources, the blast occurred when children were playing with an explosive device left behind by militants. The device was reportedly part of the landmines planted by militants to obstruct the movement of security forces.
Geo News, citing official sources, reported that landmines and unexploded ordnance had been detected across 114 square kilometers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The Pakistan Army has so far cleared 82 square kilometers of the affected area, while demining operations in the remaining regions are ongoing at an accelerated pace.
Authorities say the clearance efforts are critical to ensuring the safety of local residents, particularly children who remain vulnerable to hidden explosives.
