Bushra Bibi Can Never Even Think of Betraying Imran Khan: Maryam Wattoo

**Lahore:** Maryam Riaz Wattoo, sister of Bushra Bibi, has strongly denied claims suggesting that Bushra Bibi could betray her husband, former prime minister Imran Khan. In a statement posted on social media platform X, Maryam Wattoo said that such allegations are part of a malicious campaign.

She revealed that for the past eight weeks, even family members have been denied permission to meet Bushra Bibi, and lawyers are also not being allowed access. “We have no information about Bushra Bibi’s condition,” she added.

Maryam Wattoo said certain individuals were being used to create the false impression that she was trying to secure her sister’s release by “deceiving” Imran Khan. She termed these accusations part of a “vicious plan,” questioning how people could spread such blatant lies.

She clarified that Bushra Bibi had voluntarily chosen to move from Bani Gala to prison, displaying courage and standing firm in her decisions. “If Bushra Bibi ever wanted to betray Imran Khan, she could have done so long before her first arrest when she had the opportunity,” Maryam added.

Wattoo also reiterated comments she had made in earlier interviews, stating that she had urged Bushra Bibi to come stay with the family, as their mother was also there and she was alone following Imran Khan’s arrest. However, Bushra Bibi refused, saying that even leaving temporarily to meet her mother could create the perception that she had abandoned Imran Khan. “She said she could never leave Imran alone,” Maryam recalled.

Maryam Wattoo reaffirmed that Bushra Bibi has unwavering loyalty toward her husband. “Bushra Bibi cannot even think of betraying Imran Khan. God willing, the two will always remain together,” she concluded.
