Mahira Khan Responds to Criticism Over Emotional Scene in Film *Neelofar*

Mumbai: Pakistan’s acclaimed actress Mahira Khan has reacted to the criticism surrounding a viral emotional scene from her latest film *Neelofar*, saying that the constant scrutiny on social media can at times become mentally exhausting.

Mahira Khan stars alongside Fawad Khan in the much-anticipated film, where she portrays a visually impaired girl named Neelofar. The film has been receiving significant attention from audiences.

Recently, a clip from the movie went viral online, showing Mahira Khan’s character crying intensely and hitting herself. Several social media users criticized her performance in the scene, sparking widespread discussion.

Speaking at a recent event, Mahira said she was aware of the clip and the criticism. She added, *“The truth is, whether I do something or not, it goes viral. And sometimes, it gets tiring.”*
She noted that while she does not take criticism negatively, the constant noise and reactions on social media can lead to mental fatigue.


Mahira emphasized that *Neelofar* was an extremely challenging role, one she approached with honesty and emotional sensitivity.

The film *Neelofar*, starring Mahira Khan as a blind woman and Fawad Khan as a writer, was released on November 29 and has since been the center of considerable public discussion.
