Ex-Servicemen Society Backs General Asim Munir’s Appointment as Chief of Defence Forces

**Rawalpindi (Qudrat Daily)** – The Ex-Servicemen Society has expressed full confidence in the leadership of the Pakistan Army, announcing its support for Field Marshal General Asim Munir’s appointment as Chief of Defence Forces.

The announcement was made at a press conference held at Rawalpindi Press Club, where Chief Coordinator Aziz Awan stated that the society has complete trust in the institution and emphasized that the views expressed were both personal and organizational.

He highlighted concerns regarding the conduct of a political party towards state institutions, calling for measures including a potential ban on the party. The society also demanded swift resolution of cases related to the May 9 incidents and action against the founder of the PTI, while stressing the need to counter foreign propaganda campaigns.

President of the Ex-Servicemen Society, General (Retd) Abdul Qayyum, emphasized that national stability requires unity, noting that the strength of Pakistan’s armed forces lies in the support of the people. He recalled the army’s service in defending the country since 1947 and highlighted ongoing regional challenges, including alleged hybrid warfare and tensions involving India, as well as the misuse of Afghan territory against Pakistan.

General Qayyum further criticized media platforms in India and Israel for promoting anti-Pakistan narratives and praised General Asim Munir for his professionalism and dedication. He expressed concern over incidents disrespecting martyrs and called for a review of the NFC Award, noting that Pakistan’s army ranks 12th globally despite India’s significantly larger defense budget.

The speakers concluded by asserting that national security, unity, and stability cannot be compromised, and the entire nation must support state institutions in the fight against terrorism.
