Saba Qamar Faces Backlash After Appearing Without Makeup in Drama Scene

LAHORE: Renowned Pakistani actress Saba Qamar, celebrated for her powerful performances, has come under fire on social media after appearing without makeup in a recent episode of her drama *Case No. 9*.

Saba Qamar, known for hit dramas such as *Pani Jaisa Piyar*, *Baaghi*, *Besharam*, *Cheekh*, *Digest Writer*, and *Fraud*, is currently starring in two popular series — *Case No. 9* and *Pamaal*. Viewers have praised her strong portrayal of a rape survivor in *Case No. 9*, while her onscreen chemistry with Osman Khalid Butt in *Pamaal* is also receiving appreciation.

In the latest episode of *Case No. 9*, the actress appeared with a minimal or no makeup look, later posting on Instagram: “Let’s normalize appearing on screen without makeup.”

However, her statement sparked criticism rather than support. Social media users accused her of being disingenuous, claiming that many actors, including Saba, undergo expensive cosmetic procedures, fillers, and injections — making the “no makeup” claim misleading.

Some mocked the actress, saying: “After surgeries and fillers, going makeup-free is easy,” while others insisted she was, in fact, still wearing makeup in the scene.
