Pakistan Cancels 45 LNG Cargoes from Qatar and Italy

Islamabad (Daily Qudrat) — Pakistan has canceled the purchase of 45 liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes from Qatar and Italy, scheduled for delivery by 2027. According to Geo News, 24 cargoes from Qatar and 21 cargoes from Italy have been canceled.
Of the LNG cargoes from Qatar planned for 2026, 24 have been canceled. From Italy, instead of the previously planned 12 cargoes in 2026, only one LNG cargo will now be imported in January 2026. Additionally, out of the 12 LNG cargoes scheduled from Italy for 2027, 10 have been canceled.
Pakistan has long-term LNG purchase agreements with companies in Qatar and Italy, and the cancellations pertain to cargoes under these existing contracts. The process of canceling the LNG shipments with the respective global companies has been completed.
