Appointment of General Asim Munir as Chief of Defence Forces Was Vital for National Security: Mir Ali Hassan Zehri

Quetta (Daily Qudrat) — Spokesperson for President Asif Ali Zardari and Balochistan’s Provincial Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives, Mir Ali Hassan Zehri, congratulated Field Marshal General Asim Munir on his appointment as Pakistan’s first Chief of Defence Forces.

In his congratulatory message, Zehri praised General Munir’s leadership, stating that it has strengthened not only Pakistan’s defence but also its economy. He said the appointment was essential for national security and crucial for the country’s progress.

Zehri added that the creation of the Chief of Defence Forces position aligns Pakistan with modern defence requirements and enhances the nation’s military preparedness. He noted that under Field Marshal Munir’s command, the Pakistan Armed Forces have successfully thwarted every act of aggression, raising the nation’s pride.

He further stated that Pakistan is emerging as a strong Islamic welfare state due to General Munir’s leadership, and every soldier defending the country’s borders places full confidence in him. Zehri emphasized that the appointment reflects the aspirations of the nation and the needs of national security.

The minister said Pakistan’s defence and stability have grown stronger under General Munir. The world now views Pakistan as a peaceful yet uncompromising nation capable of responding decisively if war is imposed. He highlighted the armed forces’ vital and commendable role in national unity, peace, and economic progress—especially valued by the people and institutions of Balochistan.

Zehri also congratulated Chief of Air Staff Zaheer Ahmad Babar Sidhu on his two-year extension, acknowledging the Pakistan Air Force’s outstanding performance under his leadership.

He warned that Pakistan’s forces are fully vigilant under Field Marshal Asim Munir and prepared to deliver a powerful response to any aggression. He cautioned adversaries against miscalculations, stating that any future hostile action would result in the enemy being “wiped from existence.”
