Pakistan Cancels 45 LNG Cargoes Until 2027, Petroleum Division Sources Confirm

**Islamabad:** Pakistan has cancelled the purchase of **45 LNG cargoes** scheduled for delivery up to 2027, according to sources from the Petroleum Division.

The sources revealed that **24 LNG cargoes from Qatar** and **21 from Italy** have been cancelled. Of the LNG shipments from Qatar planned for 2026, 24 cargoes have been called off.

From Italy, only **one LNG cargo** will be imported in January 2026 instead of the previously planned 12 cargoes. Additionally, out of 12 cargoes scheduled for 2027 from the Italian company, **10 have been cancelled**.

They added that the process of cancelling the LNG cargoes with the relevant international suppliers has been completed.

Pakistan imports **10 LNG cargoes monthly** under these long-term agreements, with Italy LNG Limited supplying under a **15-year contract** and Qatar providing LNG through a long-term agreement with Pakistan State Oil (PSO).
