No One Will Be Allowed to Create a Rift Between Pakistan Army and the People: DG ISPR

Rawalpindi — Director General Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR) has strongly asserted that no individual or group will be permitted to create divisions between the Pakistan Army and the people. Addressing a press briefing, he said those targeting the military leadership cannot be considered well-wishers of the nation.

The DG ISPR emphasized that politics must be kept separate from the armed forces. “Conduct your politics independently, but keep the Pakistan Army out of it. Our armed forces serve as a shield between the people of Pakistan and extremist Hindutva ideology,” he stated.

He said the Constitution guarantees freedom of expression, but no one is allowed to use it against national security. “No narrative against the leadership of the Pakistan Army will be tolerated,” he added.

The spokesperson revealed that one particular individual has encouraged actions such as stopping Pakistan’s remittances and urging people not to pay electricity bills. He added that the armed forces have proven their resilience by standing firm against an enemy eight times larger.

According to the DG ISPR, certain elements want the army to step back from operations against terrorists and militants. He said that anti-state narratives are being systematically amplified on social media, particularly from accounts operating in Afghanistan and India. “Manipulated content against the armed forces is spread regularly, and trolls based in India and Afghanistan make such narratives viral within minutes,” he noted.

He highlighted that Indian media has become the biggest facilitator of this hostile propaganda. “Indian media airs interviews of individuals like Noreen Niazi that are against Pakistan’s national interests. Even KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s press conferences are shown prominently on Indian channels,” he said.

He further stated that massive financial resources are being spent to push anti-army narratives online and abroad. “Indian media has practically become the voice of a specific political group against the Pakistan Army,” he remarked.

The DG ISPR reiterated that the Pakistan Army stands firmly between the nation and its enemies, and no attempt to weaken this bond will be allowed under any circumstances.
