DG ISPR Warns Against Inciting Public Against Army, Calls One Individual a National Security Threat

Rawalpindi: Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations (DG ISPR), stated that no one will be allowed to create divisions between the Pakistani public and the military or incite people against the armed forces.

Speaking at a press conference, he emphasized that the session was called to address an internal national security threat. He highlighted that all political parties are respected, and the state of Pakistan is above all personal ambitions.

DG ISPR described a particular individual as being “captive to his own ego,” whose mindset—“if not me, then nothing”—has grown to the point where his narrative now poses a risk to Pakistan’s national security. He said that this individual’s political influence has ended.

He also congratulated everyone on the appointment of the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and announced that the CDF Headquarters has been established. “The headquarters was long overdue and will provide complete awareness on operational and strategic matters,” he said.

Reiterating the army’s neutrality, DG ISPR stated that the armed forces do not represent any religion, sect, ethnicity, or political ideology, and do not operate under any political party’s banner.

He concluded by reiterating that the press conference aimed to highlight internal threats and that attempts to incite the public against the military will not be tolerated.
