SSP East Farukh Raza and Deputy Commissioner Abrar Ahmed Removed from Positions in Karachi

Karachi — SSP East Farukh Raza and Deputy Commissioner (DC) East Abrar Ahmed Jafar have been removed from their posts, according to an official notification issued on Tuesday. DC Abrar Ahmed has been directed to report to the Services Department, while the Deputy Commissioner of Malir has been given additional charge of DC East.

The action comes after Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah expressed strong displeasure over the tragic incident at NIPA Chowrangi, where a 3-year-old child fell into an open manhole and lost his life.

Earlier, on the directives of the Chief Minister, five officials from various municipal and civic departments were suspended for negligence. Those suspended include:

* Imran Rajput, Senior Director Municipal Services, KMC
* Rashid Fayaz, Assistant Engineer, TMC Gulshan-e-Iqbal
* Waqar Ahmed, Executive Engineer, Karachi Water & Sewerage Corporation
* Aamir Ali Shah, Assistant Commissioner, Gulshan-e-Iqbal
* Salman Farsi, Mukhtiarkar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal

The Chief Minister had ordered strict action against all officials found responsible for negligence, emphasizing that such incidents are unacceptable and must not be repeated.
