NADRA Officials Arrested for Issuing CNICs to Foreigners in Major Scam
*Quetta (Daily Qudrat)* — The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Quetta has arrested three NADRA officials over serious allegations of issuing computerized national identity cards (CNICs) to foreigners.
The arrested officials include Anwar Shah from Quetta Regional Head Office, and Akhtar Shah and Khawaja Waqas from the Chaman zone. According to FIA sources, the accused officers allegedly accepted large sums of money from foreigners in exchange for issuing them Pakistani CNICs, which were then used to obtain Pakistani passports for travel to Saudi Arabia.
Following investigations by Saudi authorities, several individuals were taken into custody, and Pakistani officials were formally informed of the matter. The FIA summoned the NADRA officers for statements, and after preliminary questioning, all three were taken into custody for further investigation.
