Tajikistan Considers Deploying Russian Troops for Border Patrol with Afghanistan After Chinese Citizens Killed

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) — Tajikistan has initiated talks to deploy **Russian troops** for joint patrols along its border with **Afghanistan**, following recent cross-border attacks that left **five Chinese citizens dead and five injured**.

According to international news agencies, Tajikistan is discussing the deployment with **Russia** and the **Russia-led regional security alliance** to secure the unstable border area. Tajik President **Emomali Rahmon** held an emergency meeting with security officials to address the situation.

Sources from the **Tajik Security Council** revealed that Russian forces could be dispatched from the largest Russian military base abroad, located near the capital **Dushanbe**, to conduct joint border patrols. If finalized, Russian **helicopters** would assist in monitoring the entire **1,344-kilometer** border with Afghanistan.

Taliban authorities in Afghanistan have reportedly expressed willingness to cooperate with Tajikistan on border security. Negotiations are ongoing, and a final decision may be reached this week.

This move comes amid growing concerns over cross-border attacks and the safety of foreign nationals in the region.
