Federal Government Abolishes Export Development Surcharge, FBR Notifies SBP

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) — The **federal government of Pakistan has abolished the Export Development Surcharge (EDS) on all exportable goods**, according to the **Federal Board of Revenue (FBR)**.

The FBR has informed the **State Bank of Pakistan (SBP)** about the removal of the surcharge and requested that all banks **cease collecting the Export Development Surcharge** with immediate effect.

This move is expected to **reduce the cost of exports**, boost competitiveness for Pakistani exporters in international markets, and support the country’s trade growth.
