FBR Begins Work on Tax Relief for Salaried Class on PM’s Directive

Islamabad: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Chairman Rashid Mahmood Langrial has announced that work has begun to provide tax relief to the salaried class, following the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Speaking at a Pakistan Business Council seminar, Langrial said the prime minister has also instructed a reduction in the super tax imposed on large companies. He confirmed that government-level consultations have already started to implement this directive.
The FBR chairman noted that increasing the number of taxpayers in the country would enable authorities to reduce tax rates accordingly. He added that the federal government is prepared to gradually reduce and eventually eliminate the super tax on major companies and businesses in the coming phases.
