Punjab Government Denies Reports of PTI Founder Imran Khan’s Transfer from Adiala Jail

Lahore (Daily Qudrat) — The Punjab government has strongly dismissed reports circulating about the transfer of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan from Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi, calling them baseless and fabricated.
Provincial Information Minister Azma Bukhari stated that claims being spread on social media and by certain quarters are not based on facts. She clarified that Imran Khan has not been moved from the jail, nor is any such proposal under consideration. The PTI founder remains fully secure in Adiala Jail and is being provided all necessary facilities in accordance with prison regulations.
The minister added that, due to his prisoner status, access to Imran Khan is limited to his family and legal representatives, with no special privileges or additional relief being granted.
Azma Bukhari also referred to a recent statement by the Adiala Jail Superintendent, noting that Imran Khan sometimes engages in political meetings and may attempt to issue instructions regarding protests and disturbances. The jail administration is monitoring the situation closely, and the Punjab government emphasized that no inmate receives special treatment beyond the law.
She warned that rumors regarding the PTI founder’s transfer will not be tolerated, and action will be taken against those spreading false information.
