Pakistan Unveils Fully Secure, Locally‑Developed Mobile Phone for Government Use

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has successfully developed its first fully secure mobile phone, designed specifically for government officials, under a pilot project initiated by the National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC). The device features both hardware and software engineered entirely within the country.

According to officials, the handset does not connect to the internet and operates on a specially developed local operating system, significantly reducing the risk of cyberattacks. All applications installed on the device are also locally developed, and the phone is compatible with SIM cards from any telecom operator in Pakistan.

NTC authorities further revealed that the secure phone includes *no backup feature*, ensuring that in the event of theft or a security breach, extracting data from the device is impossible.

They added that communication through the device cannot be monitored or intercepted, providing complete protection for sensitive government communications.
